Meet Maya Akai, MA, LPC, CADC

Maya  is a Licensed Professional Counselor and Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor that has worked in the mental health and social service fields for the past 20 years.  She received her Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Lewis University in Romeoville, Illinois.  Maya has worked in the crisis intervention field for the past 13+ years and through these experiences she has worked with diverse populations. Maya has experience in working with individuals of all ages and ethnicities and has a special interest in working with those in emerging adulthood and multicultural backgrounds.  Maya’s diverse mental health experiences include working with foster care services, youth in crisis, BIPOC and multicultural communities.
